An article about solar energy and pellet stove, connected to the heating radiators and the households hot water.
Gallery Betty have scraped its old oil-fired burner, in advantage of more co2 friendly heating energy. In Denmark, the cost-saving is more than 60%!!

Everything started in the month of May 2008, where we decided to get rid of our old thatched roof, and get a new prepared insulated roof. We got a big chock, when we had removed the straw: Everything was crocked, like the back of an old working horse. Everything had to be straightened and reinforced. We worked more than two months.

In the month of October, we scraped our old oil-fired burner. Instead, we got our new solar energy and pellet stove with water connection. We chose the pellet stove with water connection, because our house were too small for a bigger pellet-fired burner, and because the pellet stove fits perfect inside our house. Our choice was an Ecotec Amalfi with hot water connection.

To everybody, who have heard it is a lot of filthy work with cleaning the pellet stove: It is not filthy, and the little bit of work is all the trouble worth! Now, we have got a good warm and healthy house, and as an extra reward, our cost-saving is more than 60%!!

From the month of April to the month of October, we will turn off our pellet stove, an let our Batec solar system do the heating. Since we got this system installed in the month of October, the weather have been cloudy, rainy and foggy. It have been a very few sunny days, but when the sun are there, it works, even in the month of December and January.
Until now, this winter has been very strange, rain...rain and more rain. We have thought, that the weather have something to do with our solar system... You know, if we have forgotten our umbrella, it will be a rainy day.
